Preventing Paint Spills on Leather Car Seats
Paint spills on leather car seats can be a nightmare to clean up. Not only do they leave an unsightly mark, but they can also cause permanent damage to the leather. Fortunately, there are some preventative measures you can take to help avoid paint spills on your leather car seats.
- Cover your car seats with a drop cloth or a large plastic sheet if you’re painting your vehicle’s interior. This will help to keep any paint from getting on the leather. Make sure to tuck the edges of the drop cloth or plastic sheet under the seat to ensure that it is secure and can’t move around.
- Apply a sealant to the leather – this will help protect leather car seats from likely damage, making it easier to clean any spills.
- Be aware of your surroundings. Be mindful of any paint cans or other objects that could be knocked over and cause a spill. If you are transporting such products in your car, be sure to secure them properly to avoid a spill.
- Make sure always to clean up any spilled paint immediately. Such an action will help you prevent the paint from seeping into the leather, which can cause permanent damage. Use a damp cloth and gentle detergent to clean up any spills.
